Child protection
How to get help if someone reports you to the ministry
False reports
Someone might make an incorrect or frivolous report if your child or someone else is angry with you and wants to get you into trouble.
If you think this has happened to you, tell this to ministry staff. Ask for as much detail as possible so you fully understand the report made about you and can respond to it effectively.
For information on definitions of abuse and the proper treatment of children, please refer to The rights of your children and Your responsibilities as a parent.
Note: You cannot find out the name of the person who made a complaint about you. Ministry staff are required to keep this information confidential.
