How to get help if someone reports you to the ministry

False reports

Sometimes people make false reports about abuse to the Ministry of Children and Family Development. For example, someone who wants to get you into trouble might make a report about you.

  • If you think this has happened to you, tell this to ministry staff. Ask for as much detail as possible so you fully understand the report made about you and can respond to it effectively.
  • For information on definitions of abuse and the proper treatment of children, see The rights of your children and Your responsibilities as a parent.
You can't find out the name of the person who made a report about you. Ministry staff have to keep this information confidential (private).
