How to make a complaint against the ministry

Who can make a complaint

You have the right to make a complaint about any unfair treatment you received from the Ministry of Children and Family Development.

You can make a complaint against the ministry if you are:

  • a child or youth in care, receiving services, or entitled to receive services from the ministry
  • a parent who's receiving services or whose child is in the care of the ministry
  • a parent who's being investigated by the ministry
  • a sister, brother, grandparent, or other relative or caregiver, and you feel you or another family member has been treated poorly
  • a person trying to help a child (for example, a teacher, doctor, or therapist)
  • a foster parent on behalf of a foster child
