Supreme Court — If you can't agree — Information for respondents
How to respond to an application for a non-final family order
Step 13
File the order with the Family Maintenance Enforcement Program, if you want
If the court makes a child or spousal support order, you may wish to register the order with the Family Maintenance Enforcement Program (FMEP). This provincial government service helps people get the maintenance payments they're entitled to. FMEP will also accurately record all payments sent, so if you're a payor under an order, it can be to your advantage to register. That way, there can be no disputes with the other party as to whether money was paid under the order.
For more information about the program, see the Ministry of Justice's Family Justice website.
